Behind the Back Cable Wrist Curls Behind the back cable wrist curl is a great exercise to isolate your forearms. Using the cables will help you maintain a constant tension on your forearms and will fill your muscles with lactic acid. Stand with your back towards the cable pulley machine and grab a straight bar. Curl the bar and hold the movement at the contraction for a couple of seconds. Do This Workout Like 3 Sets 12 Reps. #2. Barbell Reverse Wrist Curls Barbell reverse curls is another common forearm exercise but is a little harder as compared to the normal wrist curls. Use a wrist curl machine if you have access to it at your gym, or use a flat bench. You will be lifting lighter weights in this exercise as compared to the normal wrist curls. Grab the bar with an overhand monkey (thumbs over the barbell) grip. A monkey grip helps in better targetting your forearms better. The reverse wrist curls work the extensor muscles. Do This Workout Like 3 Sets 15 Reps #1. Barbell Wrist Curls Barbell wrist curls are one of the most common forearm exercises and yet most people perform them incorrectly. Don’t let your ego get the better of you while doing this exercise and use weights you can maintain a full range of motion with. The barbell wrist curls work the brachioradialis and flexors. The best way of performing the barbell or dumbbell wrist curls is to kneel down at the side of a flat bench with your forearms placed on the bench. Grab a barbell with an underhand grip and curl it as high as you can and while lowering the barbell, let the barbell roll down to the tip of your fingers. Point your foot/feet slightly inward for Movements 1, 2, & 4, your glutes will thank you! 2.) Extend your arms straight out and hold for more balance and a stronger form during Movements 1, 2, & 4, your back will thank you! 1st MOVEMENT -- Place your right leg up on the couch comfortably Continue to perform this motion until fatigued, then switch legs, and repeat. 2nd MOVEMENT -- Same structure as the 1st movement but you're switching the for. Continue to perform this motion until fatigued, then switch legs, and repeat. 3rd MOVEMENT -- Get into a push-up position with your knees on the couch and drive your leg all the way back and hold for 3 seconds! Shocked me. I thought abs, and arms would easily top those...but they didn't. The reason why is because a set of powerful explosive shoulders frames your entire physique and lets people know that you're in shape and strong without having to say a word. All that said, the problem that most guys face when trying to get big shoulders is that they feel as if the only way to get them is by doing countless reps of heavy military presses. This isn't the only way. In fact, using one of the most popular shoulder exercises but also one of the most incorrectly performed, you can start adding size to your shoulders in as little as 14 days! The ability to get bigger shoulders and add muscle mass to your shoulders in 14 days comes from the principle of muscle overload. By incorporating the cheat side lateral exercise you can add significant weight to the exercise and as a result, size to your shoulders much more quickly. The trick is to not swing the weight up, but make sure that you muscle it up. From the top of the movement, you want to be sure that you slowly lower the weight down, concentrating on the eccentric part of the exercise to ensure that the deltoid is getting the brunt of the work. Continue to perform as many reps as you can until failure and incorporate this technique into your shoulder workout each time you perform it. You actually can see a difference in your shoulder size after even just one of these workouts. Not from actual shoulder muscle growth but more from the lingering pump that you will experience (not very common when doing shoulder workouts!) by training the muscles the right way. Third is Donkey Calf Raise. This 1 is a double whammy it strengthens the entire posterior chain and stretches it as well. If you put a lot of effort into these 2 exercise you wont need to do a whole lot more. Maybe close stance squats but you can save that for the next workout if you too tired.
