Howdy! I'm Misaki Rindou, here with a video I should have uploaded long ago, but never really got around to finishing the video for. It's Voyage Illusoire, otherwise known as The Great Medley of Western Touhou-style Music!
Okay, maybe that was kind of a lie. It's more like a medley of songs by me, Mana Kazami, Miransu Uwabami, Princess Sylvysprit, and Frenticpony, with a few guest appearances. A couple of these songs are unreleased -- just to let know in advance anyone who might be wondering where all of these songs are from.
I was going to make art for each composer that appears in this video, but it turns out I have no artistic talent. Ah well. It's not like it's necessary for a MIDI visualization.
Speaking of visuals, so many of these background images are just stock images ripped off of Google. Yeah, I'm the queen of laziness. Sue me.
To be honest, I was hoping to include more "double song" sections, where one song was played in sync with another as if it were a mashup, but I didn't really find too many opportunities for that. We're all so diverse, huh.
8:17 has an error, it's supposed to be #20 "Liberation of Dawn ~ Brightness Frontier", by Princess Sylvysprit, not #21. Misaki is confirmed to be bad at counting numbers.
9:16 may be a familiar tune for anyone who has heard my theme, Hidden Paladin, but actually, Hidden Paladin is remixed, at least partially, from the song that appears here.
11:38 's song was actually made first before I made the version you hear in another video I uploaded previously on Youtube. That's right -- I decided to make the full version of the arrangement of that song after finishing Voyage Illusoire.
Speaking of which, Voyage Illusoire was delayed for so long, probably just because I had trouble with making the video for it.
That, and I decided not to fully improve the mixing for the audio, so... there's that too.
13:37 is something I REALLY want to make a full version of, now that I did a really fancy piano for it. It'd be a shame if such a thing was simply kept as a brief, fleeting idea in some medley, huh.
I know for sure that the song at 14:39 isn't really how it goes, but I just... made it different, I guess. I took quite a lot of liberties with multiple songs in this medley, and this song is no exception.
(( I'll write more for the description later... ))
